Ryan Ling is a Hong Kong-born aspiring Editor/Assistant Editor now based in London. After moving to the UK for high school, he discovered his passion for storytelling during university. With a Master’s in Filmmaking from the London Film School, he brings a strong commitment to storytelling through editing, crafting impactful narratives across a wide range of genres.

Ryan’s editing skills are highlighted in The Bull”, which was selected for the Tallinn Black Nights International Film Festival (PÖFF Shorts) and the Leuven International Film Festival—both prestigious platforms qualifying for Oscar, BAFTA, and European Film Awards.

He also edited Jake Goes on a Date”, a short film that was invited to prominent festivals such as Fantasia International Film Festival, Aesthetica Short Film Festival, HollyShorts, and Indy Shorts. These events are recognized as Oscar, BAFTA, or BIFA qualifying, demonstrating the film’s strong reception.

His work on The Farm” received critical acclaim with selections at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival and Bolton Film Festival, both known as BAFTA and BIFA qualifying festivals, reflecting Ryan’s ability to shape engaging and meaningful stories. Meanwhile, Divine Intervention” was selected at the BAFTA-qualifying Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Film Festival, with screenings scheduled on Channel 4, highlighting his versatility and sensitivity in storytelling.

Ryan’s newest project, Crab No.7”, was selected for the prestigious BFI London Film Festival, further establishing his growing reputation. Through his editing, Ryan carefully constructs the narrative arc of each story, ensuring that every element contributes to a powerful and resonant cinematic experience.
